Emanuel Bridges, who announced earlier in December that he was leaving Georgia Tech at the end of the semester to continue his career elsewhere, will transfer to East Mississippi Community College. Bridges made the decision last week.

Bridges, a linebacker, will transfer to the school after redshirting this season out of Newnan High. Bridges might be expected to stay one year and then transfer out to a four-year school after a season of play. At that point, he would have three remaining years of eligibility.

Bridges was one of four Tech players who transferred after the season. B-back Marcus Marshall, cornerback Dorian Walker and wide receiver Christian Philpott.

East Mississippi Community College was made famous by the Netflix documentary series “Last Chance U,” which chronicled the team’s pursuit of the national junior college championship and players’ pursuit of Division I scholarship offers, often after leaving other Division I schools.
