Duke guard Grayson Allen, who was suspended indefinitely Dec. 22 for tripping an opponent for the third time in less than a year, returned to the lineup Wednesday night against Georgia Tech. It concluded his suspension at one game. The team made the announcement from its Twitter account, saying that he was in the starting lineup.

The return of Allen, an All-American last season and the preseason ACC player of the year, obviously provided No. 8 Duke with a significant boost to its prospects. In 12 games, Allen has averaged 16.0 points per game with 4.7 rebounds and a team-high 42 assists. Without him, playing a short bench, the Blue Devils lost to Virginia Tech in their ACC opener on Saturday 89-75.

Last season, Allen scored 27 points with seven 3-pointers in leading Duke to an 80-71 win over the Jackets at McCamish Pavilion.
