Georgia Tech A-back Clinton Lynch was not dressed out prior to Monday’s Chick-fil-A Kickoff game against Tennessee at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a strong indication that he will not play.

Update: Lynch was announced as out just prior to kickoff with a lower-body injury.

Around 6 p.m., Lynch stood on the sideline with some teammates dressed in a jersey, sweatpants and sneakers, standard attire for players not participating in the game. The large majority came out for warmups in shorts, t-shirts and cleats.

Lynch had not practiced for several days during the preseason, out with an unspecified injury. Without Lynch, who was highly productive for the Yellow Jackets last season, Tech will play with Qua Searcy, J.J. Green and Nathan Cottrell at A-back. Last season, Lynch gained 905 yards on only 53 touches. He scored eight touchdowns, or one per 6.6 touches.
