The Braves split a doubleheader in New York against the Mets on Monday. The offense shined bright in Game 1, but Game 2 was a story of too little too late.

Here’s the latest with the Braves as they prepare to face the Mets again on Tuesday night. Braves starter R.A. Dickey could be making his final career start - and against the team with which he won a Cy Young award.

1. The Braves played four doubleheaders this season, their most since participating in five in 2006. They’ve played 43 doubleheaders against the Mets since 1962.

2. Ender Inciarte is one hit away from 200. It would be the seventh 200-hit campaign for the Atlanta Braves, but how has he become Mr. Consistent?

3. Max Fried started the Monday night game. Joining Luiz Gohara and Sean Newcomb, the Braves have three rookie lefties in their rotation for the first time since 1955, with Bob Logan, Bob Whitcher and, of course, Lefty Wallace.

4. In his last two spot starts, Lucas Sims has allowed three runs and eight hits across 11-2/3 innings. He’s also struck out 12 to only walking four. Sims, after a slow start (5.73 ERA in first seven outings), will be an interesting player to watch next spring training.

5. The AJC spoke with Braves pitching prospect Touki Toussaint on his past season. Toussaint has grown into one of the Braves' better young arms, with a possible arrival late next season or in 2019.
