JUPITER, Fla. — The Braves signed 21 non-arbitration-eligible players to one-year contracts Thursday, including rookie shortstop Dansby Swanson, third baseman Adonis Garcia, starting pitchers Mike Foltynewicz and Matt Wisler, relievers Mauricio Cabrera, Jose Ramirez, Chaz Roe and Armando Rivero, and utility man Jace Peterson.

Others included utility roster candidates Chase d’Arnaud and Micah Johnson, infield prospects Johan Camargo, Rio Ruiz, pitching prospects Max Fried, Aaron Blair, Jason Hursh, Luke Jackson, Jesse Biddle and Lucas Sims, relievers Akeel Morris and Dan Winkler.

Many of those signed have no service time and a majority have two years or less of service time and will get a salary at or near the major league minimum of $535,000 or a prorated share of that amount for any time spent in the majors.

The rookie shortstop is a preseason leading candidate for Rookie of the Year and excited about Braves' outlook. (Video by David O'Brien)
