Braves-Mets game rained out Saturday

Braves-Mets game rained out Saturday

The Braves’ home game against the New York Mets scheduled for Saturday night has been postponed due to rain, and will be made up at a date still to be determined.

The rainout affects the pitching matchup for Sunday’s series finale between the teams. The Braves will stay with Tim Hudson Sunday, as planned, while the Mets pushed back ace Matt Harvey (4-0, 1.56 ERA) from Sunday. They’ll instead start left-hander Jonathan Niese (2-2, 3.31 ERA), who had been scheduled to pitch Saturday.

The Braves will skip the turn of rookie Julio Teheran, who was scheduled to start Saturday.

Fans who purchased tickets to Saturday’s game can use them for the makeup game or exchange them for tickets to any remaining 2013 Braves regular-season home game, subject to availability. Exchanges can be made at the Turner Field ticket office during regular business hours, or by mail (please go to for details). Exchanges must be completed prior to the date of the rescheduled game.

It’s the 17th rainout in the 16-year history of Turner Field. The teams are scheduled to play Sunday at 1:35 p.m., before the Braves leave town for a 10-game trip that starts Monday at Cincinnati.
