The excitement around Bartolo Colon is building not only in Atlanta, but across baseball.

"Big Sexy," as he is known, will be baseball's oldest player at 43 when he pitches for Braves, and he is motivated. Colon is in pursuit of the 13 wins he needs to pass Dennis Martinez's 245, the major league career record for a Latin American pitcher. He also needs 10 wins to match Juan Marichal's record for Dominican pitchers.

Despite his girth, Colon still displays plenty of athleticism and fields his position well. He hit his first home run at age 42, with the N.Y. Mets. "Nobody in history had ever waited until they had logged that many years on earth to hit their first home run," ESPN's Jayson Stark wrote.
