Now casting: ‘Karate Kid’ YouTube series seeking extras

Are you ready to make your mark on Atlanta's film and TV industry? Are you the next Tyler Perry? ATL is in need of young stars. Check out the Peach City's latest casting call for your chance at fame.

This update on the 1984 classic film “The Karate Kid” is a 10-episode comedy series that will air on the paid subscription service YouTube Red. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka reprise their roles as their present-day characters use karate to address demons from their past as well as current frustrations.

What are they looking for?

The following are needed for a Halloween party scene:

Kissing couple – age 18 to 23, will be kissing in a hallway and must not be shy (Subject line: "KISS")

Real DJ – age 20 to 35 (Subject line: "DJ")

Men and women – age 18 to 23 who can portray high schoolers (Subject line: "HALLOWEEN TLY")

Minors – age 14 to 17 to portray high schoolers (Subject line: "HALLOWEEN MINOR")

When are they filming?

Filming will be in Atlanta on Oct. 19 and 20, and you must be available to work both days.

How much does it pay?

Pay is to be determined.

If you’re submitting for the DJ role, include details about your experience and state if you have your own equipment. If you’re submitting for the “HALLOWEEN TLY” role, state whether you have your own costume, and include the same information – plus whether you’ve previously filled out the paperwork for minors – if you’re a “HALLOWEEN MINOR.”
