Black ice is to blame for a crash that sent a Fulton County police officer and another driver to the hospital, authorities said.

The crash happened about 1 a.m. Friday on Old National Highway and Pleasant Hill Road, according to Fulton police Cpl. Partrena Smith.

The officer may have a broken arm and the other driver may have a head injury, Smith said.

The names and conditions of both drivers have not yet been released.
