A truck lost an 8,000-pound load of sod Wednesday morning, shutting down a south Fulton County highway for more than two hours.

Crews from the Georgia Department of Transportation responded and removed the sod from westbound Ga. 92 near Butner Road in the Fairburn area, agency spokeswoman Natalie Dale said. The road reopened shortly before 9 a.m.

“The cleanup is cleared,” Dale told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

No injuries were reported, according to spokeswoman Maureen Smith of Fulton County Police Department.

NG Turf operated the truck.
