Sugar Hill is moving forward with plans to create a city EpiCenter adjacent to the city’s amphitheater, known as The Bowl, and city hall.

The epicenter program plan will include retail and office space, restaurants, a roof top terrace, a performance art theatre, gymnasium and indoor pool. The planned theatre space will become home for the Players Guild at Sugar Hill and Broad Street Band.

According to the Downtown Development Authority, architects and engineers will work this fall with construction starting in January. Current estimates for the project are projected at $30 million.

Sugar Hill has no current debt and plans to pay for approximately half of the project without tapping reserve funds. SPLOST dollars will likely cover theatre and community center costs.
