Paving along Ga. Hwy. 54 between Fayetteville and Peachtree City will result in around-the-clock closures and delays this weekend.

From 7 p.m. on Aug. 24 until 6 a.m. on Aug. 27, the Georgia Department of Transportation’s contractor will begin on Friday night on the outer (righthand) lanes, starting at the Crystal Lake bridge in Fayetteville and moving west through Peachtree City on Saturday.

The goal is to complete the top coat westbound to the Coweta County line. The crews will then turn around and head back through Peachtree City eastward to Fayetteville from Saturday night through Monday morning. The right lane of the road will be closed during the process.

Updates will be posted at www.fayetteville-ga.gov and on social media. Anyone with questions or concerns about the project may contact the GDOT District 3 office at 706-845-4115 or email amccart@dot.ga.gov.
