Man walking on I-75 hit, killed in Clayton County

A pedestrian was killed in an accident that shut down I-75 South in Clayton County for two hours overnight, police confirmed.
Several southbound lanes were shut down at Tara Boulevard about 12:45 a.m. Thursday while police investigated, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

According to Clayton County police, a man was hit by a vehicle while walking on the interstate.
“The driver remained on scene,” police spokeswoman Officer Marcena Davis told AJC.com. “No charges (are) expected to be filed.”
No other details about the accident, including the identity of the victim, were released.
All lanes of I-75 South were reopened by 2:45 a.m., the Traffic Center reported.
