Henry County government staff has been directed by the Board of Commissioners to begin assembling information to provide to the board regarding the process required to place a special transportation SPLOST on the ballot for voters in the fall.

After a presentation by a concerned citizen, a motion was made by Commissioner Bruce Holmes to start the process of determining whether a referendum could be created for the November ballot. Holmes cited a wide variety of transportation needs throughout the county and said this mechanism should be put in place so the voters can decide if they want it.
