The rain is here to stay, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Brian Monahan says.

Driving conditions could be dangerous with wet roadways and poor visibility in the fog.

Currently, the temperature in Atlanta is 56 degrees and rain is guaranteed through much of the area through evening, Monahan said.

After the rain moves out Sunday night, Monday is expected to be partly cloudy and warm with highs nearing 60 degrees.

But despite being sunny on Tuesday, temps will be cold with a high of only 44 degrees, Monahan said.

By Wednesday, temps will be back in the 50s through the end of the work week.

More rain is possible on Friday, Channel 2 reported.
