Instead of hauling used parts to the land fill, the Duluth Police Department recently sold several pieces of police equipment at auction. Items sold included a vehicle, engine block, auto lift and trailer. After commissions and fees, the city received $5,651 from the auction.

In a recent administrative move, the Duluth City Council approved moving these funds into the city’s Fiscal Year 2018 budget for use by the police department for ongoing vehicle fleet maintenance. The Duluth Police Department routinely auctions used vehicles and equipment to help fund department needs.
