College Park to consider Jaws of Life purchase

A request to approve a $30,127 purchase of a set of Jaws of Life extrication tools for the College Park fire department is on the agenda for the city council’s Feb. 6 meeting.

The fire chief is also requesting the replacement of a cardiac monitor, a cost of $29,167, said Gerald Walker. the city’s director of communications, who added that both items were budgeted for the fiscal year from the College Park Fire Rescue budget.

Other items on the College Park council agenda include a request to expand groundwater as a supplemental water supply source for the City of College Park, a request to adopt an ordinance to approve new ward boundaries and to adopt a resolution authorizing the abandonment of a portion of Hathcock Drive for a business park development.

The council’s agenda includes a request for staff to negotiate architectural design services for the new multipurpose facility that will support the Georgia International Convention Center Complex.
