This is a roundup of recent crimes of note in Cobb County. It is based on arrest warrants, police reports and jail records. At this point, these are allegations by law enforcement.

Hungry woman allegedly gets gun pointed at her

Cobb police have issued a warrant for an employee of a Kennesaw office of Alorica, a California-based customer service company, who pointed a gun at a coworker.

According to the warrant, the victim told police she and others were trying to leave work to get lunch Wednesday but couldn’t because the suspect was parked in a fire lane.

The alleged victim told police that when she asked the coworker to move the vehicle, the coworker said “learn to drive” before using a derogatory term to address the woman.

At some point during their ensuing shouting match, the suspect pulled out a black-and-silver handgun from a purse and pointed it at the woman, according to the warrant.

The suspect was gone by the time police arrived, and jail records don’t show that the suspect has been booked.

Brazen, bad idea

Marietta cops didn’t have to go far for an arrest last month.

They booked into jail a man who, according to a warrant, was “standing just outside of the Marietta Police Department ... attempting to make a marijuana cigar.”

He pulled a small bag with three ounces of marijuana from his pants while standing outside a barbershop less than a block from the station.

He quickly bonded out for $1,320.

A sword, a bowling alley and an alleged meth pipe

Cobb cops responded around 11:15 p.m. on April 17 to Bowlero at 2749 Delk Road, which opened in early December, to a report of a "suspicious male armed with a sword," according to a warrant.

Police patted down a man when they got there and allegedly found a glass pipe on him with residue of what an officer said was methamphetamine.

The man remains in jail with a bond of $2,970.

Littering, then heroin, then jail

A Marietta officer pulled over a car Wednesday after allegedly seeing the front-seat passenger throw pieces of paper onto Franklin Highway at Delk Road.

When the man got out of the car, he had a used, uncapped needle in his hand, according to a warrant. The needle tested positive for heroin.

The man bonded out of Cobb jail the next day for $5,720.

Alleged car, baby theft

Kennesaw police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a man they say pushed a woman out of a car and drove away with her 9-month-old child still inside.

The warrant didn’t say if the suspect was already inside the rented 2015 Nissan Altima when he punched and kicked the woman’s head. He then locked her out and drove off with the boy, who he doesn’t have custody of. The warrant also doesn’t include information on the relationship between the man and the baby.

The warrant did not say what happened after he left the mother.

Police said all this happened at 8:50 p.m. Tuesday in the 3600 block of Cherokee Street.

Jail records don’t show that the man has been arrested.
