With a possible traffic nightmare looming from the I-85 bridge collapse, Chick-fil-A wants to ease metro Atlanta traffic by applying its standard solution — eat more chicken.

The chicken chain is offering carpoolers free select entrees for the next couple weeks in an effort to reduce morning rush hour.

Here's the deal: Your vehicle must have three or more people, everyone picks one of four entrees (not meals) — Chicken Biscuit, Breakfast Burrito and Egg White Grill or Chick-n-Minis — and you'll only get free food until 7:30 a.m.

The offer runs Monday through Friday until April 14 and includes “all metro Atlanta area restaurants,” said Jonathan Keith, a spokesman for the chain.

When asked which stores would be participating, he suggested folks call locations before going.

Chick-fil-A has used other methods to reward folks who are creating less traffic. Keith said Chick-fil-A gave out about 1,200 biscuits in total to Monday morning MARTA riders at the Five Points and North Springs stations.

Cleaning up the wreckage and rebuilding is expected to be an extensive and expensive process.
