After Irma: Several roads in Roswell remain closed

There were more than 1.2 million people without power Tuesday morning after Irma in Georgia.

Several roads in Roswell are closed Tuesday morning as the city deals with the aftermath of Tropical Storm Irma.

Low power lines, downed trees and malfunctioning traffic signals have caused delays in the city.

According to Roswell police, here are areas in the city where roads may be closed, and where drivers could experience delays. Authorities are working quickly to get these problems resolved.

  • There are issues are at Azalea Drive between Ga. 9 and Chattahoochee Circle, which is closed due to a large tree down on power lines.
  • Pine Grove Road between North Coleman and Lake Charles Drive is closed due to trees and lines down.
  • Mansell Road southbound at Houze Road is closed due to low-hanging lines.
  • Robin Court at Windsor Trail is closed due to trees and lines down.
  • West Hembree Crossing at Hembree Circle is closed due to trees and lines down.
  • Traffic lights are flashing on Houze Road at Rooker Road.
  • Traffic lights are completely out on Woodstock Street at Ga. 9 and Woodstock Street at Canton Street.

In nearby Milton and Johns Creek, no roads were reported closed on Tuesday. As of 10 a.m., Alpharetta said all of its roads were clear too. In Sandy Springs, many roads are closed due to the impact from Tropical Storm Irma.
