Henry County Transit has received $157,561.34 from a state transportation program to update its system.

The money will be used to replace four buses. Henry must provide a 10 percent match of $19,695.17 and Georgia will kick in a similar matching amount for a grand total of $196,951.68 in capital funds. The money comes from the Georgia Department of Transportation 5311 Rural Transportation Program Supplemental Agreement for Capital Assistance.

Henry County Transit provides curb-to-curb service. Curb–to–curb service operates from the curb of a customer’s pick up location to the curb of the customer’s destination.
