Gwinnett County is opening more early voting locations to ease long lines.

Beginning today, Gwinnett voters will be able to cast their ballots at the George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center in Suwanee and the Lenora Park activity room in Snellville. Previously, the only early voting site is the Gwinnett County Voter Registrations and Elections Office in Lawrenceville.

Some voters waited several hours to cast their ballots last week at the election office. County Administrator Glenn Stephens said the additional locations – plus 15 additional voting machines at the election office – should ease the wait.

“We know we’re a large county,” Stephens said. “We think this will help.”

Voters can cast their ballots at all three locations from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Friday.

Gwinnett plans to open more early voting locations on Saturday. On that day and next week, the county will have eight early voting locations open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
