After Tropical Storm Irma swept through, four people had been trapped by falling trees in their homes in Atlanta, Atlanta Police Department spokeswoman Stephanie Brown said.

They are at: 1886 Marietta Road, West Wesley Road at Moores Mill Road, Hambersham Road at Valley Road and Moores Mill Road at West Paces Road.

Forestry crews were working on about 90 fallen trees throughout the city, and Brown said she expected that number to grow.

She did not know how long it would take to complete the work, but said the city’s priority is to clear major roads.

Fulton County offices remained closed Tuesday, as did those of many cities.

On Tuesday morning, Fulton's director of public works was sending a crew building to building to check out any damage. There were some scattered issues, county spokeswoman Jolene Butts Freeman said, including leaky roofs. But roofs leak in some county buildings whenever there is rain.

By the end of the day Tuesday, Freeman said, county officials will have decided whether any buildings will need to stay closed Wednesday because of damage.

“We’re going full force,” Freeman said. “Everything’s still standing.”

Johns Creek is staying closed as crews work to clear trees and restore power, as is South Fulton.
