Forsyth County schools are releasing students, who had been sheltering in safe areas because of a tornado warning and heavy weather that swept through about 2:30 p.m.

Spokeswoman Jennifer Caracciolo said the best way for parents to keep up is to check school and the school district’s Twitter account. Caracciolo said the system is also sending texts and emails to keep parents in place. Students may not be checked out early.
