A director of Kennesaw State University’s department in charge of student groups, including fraternities and sororities, was arrested this month on charges of misusing student organization money.

Officers arrested Jennifer Morales April 13 on a charge of theft by taking, which is a felony, according to records from the Cobb County Sheriff’s department. She posted bond, which was set at $30,000, the same day.

Kennesaw State officials confirmed Morales’ arrest in a statement Monday after questions by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The university investigation began in March. Morales was fired March 30, according to the statement.

Morales has been removed from the department’s website and an interim director is performing her duties.

Morales joined Kennesaw State in June 2011 as assistant director for fraternity and sorority life and was promoted to the director’s position in January 2015.
