Fulton County Schools issued a traffic advisory for Monday, when the district’s students return from winter break and Atlanta hosts the college football championship game.

In social media posts, the school district warned parents that school buses bringing students home may be delayed Monday because of the anticipated "extremely heavy" afternoon traffic. The advisory cited the 8 p.m. game, in which Georgia will play Alabama for the national championship at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and the visit by President Donald Trump.

“We have traffic mitigation plans in place for the school buses that are traveling across the county. Please know that even with these plans, some students may experience delays in arriving home,” the district stated.

DeKalb County School District announced it will move its board meeting an hour earlier because of the game, while the Atlanta Board of Education plans to meet at 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Monday.
