Clayton County Schools officials said school will remain closed Friday due to icy conditions.

Schools have been closed since Wednesday after snow begin falling late Tuesday night.

“We recognize our school buses mostly travel on secondary and housing development roads and streets,” Superintendent Morcease Beasley said in a statement Thursday. “Those roads continue to be covered with ice that makes then difficult for safe bus travel. Our desire to keep our children and staff safe led to this decision.”

The note included websites for online resources he said should be used with school out.

Neighboring Atlanta Public Schools has already announced it should reopen Friday.
