Farhat Ahmad serves as the English Literature teacher for 11th and 12th grades at McClarin Success Academy. He received his Bachelor's degree in Sociology and English/Creative Writing from University of Wisconsin Madison and Master's degree in Secondary Education English at Georgia Southern University. He has served as an educator for the past 11 years.

In 2015, Farhat won the Governor’s award for innovative teaching with his Basic Skills Boot Camp and unit on Rhetorical Analysis. He joined the district’s Vanguard team, coaching teachers on implementing technology in their learning practices. Students can come to his classroom, take any ELA class and finish at their own pace with the ability to complete their studies anywhere they have wifi. Farhat’s mentor, Dr. Jones, taught him to always advocate for students despite the adversity they faced and inspired him to developing this curriculum for ELA students.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is proud to announce a new community recognition program – the AJC Celebrating Teachers Awards. We believe the very best of the best are worth honoring and giving them the recognition they deserve. This will be a moment of significant pride for the honoree, their family and school.
