After receiving a tip about a recent bank robbery, Canton police arrested a man Wednesday.

John S. Adams, 59, allegedly walked into a BB&T Bank on Prominence Pointe Parkway in Canton without a visible weapon and demanded money Sept. 6. He walked out with an undisclosed amount of money, got into a car and drove away.

But police caught up to him after investigating the tip that came in via social media and, after developing further incriminating information, arrested Adams.

He was booked into the Cherokee County Jail.
