DeKalb County police have identified a 15-year-old boy who was killed in a drive-by shooting Wednesday as Jaylon Maddox.

Police said Thursday they were looking for an older model white car that was believed to be involved in the shooting along the 3000 block of Ember Drive in unincorporated DeKalb.

Another victim, 27-year-old Justin Sellers, was also shot but survived, police said. Sellers was in serious but stable condition Wednesday after being transported to Grady Memorial Hospital, police said.

Maddox died at the same hospital, which declined to provide an update Thursday on Sellers’ condition.

Police said Maddox and Sellers were walking along the road at about 9:20 p.m. Wednesday when a vehicle pulled up next to them. Someone in the car shot them several times, then sped away.

Police said the shooting appeared to be random.
