A body was found Wednesday evening behind First African Episcopal Church on Gresham Road, DeKalb County police confirmed.

The man had multiple gunshot wounds, DeKalb County police Lt. Lonzy Robertson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“We won't know if he was a member (of the church) until we have identified him,” Robertson said, but “it does not appear that he was associated with the church.”

Authorities do not know how long the body had been behind the church.

No suspects have been identified.
