Whether you're dead set on buying or dreaming a little (or maybe a lot), what can you expect from a home listed for $1,000,000 in metro Atlanta?

The magical million dollar price threshhold is well above Trulia's estimated $235,000 median home sales from February 5 - May 4 of this year, which allows for niceties. And the further you get from certain pricey Atlanta neighborhoods — take Buckhead, for example — the more luxury touches per million-dollar property.

Some of the luxury listings can even be considered "deals," with prices per square foot well below Trulia's established average of $182 per square foot up from $173 just a year ago. One mansion in Henry County comes in at just $93 per square foot.

In other areas of town, though, you're looking at about 30 percent over the square foot average, like one notable Decatur home's $247/square foot tally.

Need an example of what you might be able to buy with $1,000,000 of buying power? Read on for examples (plus or minus as much as $100,000) all over metro Atlanta.
