Generations of Georgians have ridden The Pink Pig, a holiday tradition that started at Rich's department store in 1953. The youngster in this 1990 photo is of legal age now.

You can see young passengers in this vintage photo, which conveys some of the ride's charm, but not its pinkness.

The original Pink Pig, which delighted Atlanta children at the old Rich's store downtown, looks rather high off the ground in this photo.

The Pink Pig monorail at Rich's in downtown Atlanta was bright and pretty in 1990.

The pink pig was sent to the Custom Fiberglass shop in Sugar Hill for freshening in 1995.

Pink Pigs Pricilla (left) and Percival hung out at the Atlanta History Center during the Annual Candlelight Tour in 1997.

The ride was brought inside at Lenox Square Rich's-Macy's in October 2003 to drive up holiday sales.

The Pink Pig, hosting a church group in this 2005 shot, delighted children from 1953 until 2019.
