Grace C. Stanislaus, a veteran and respected arts administrator, has been named executive director of the National Black Arts Festival, which is more than two decades old.

Stanislaus has held executive leadership and management positions at a number of arts institutions around the nation. Previously, she was executive director of the Museum of the African Diaspora in San Francisco; and president and CEO of the Romare Bearden Foundation in New York.

She has written and lectured extensively on African and African American art, challenges facing nonprofit cultural institutions and African Diaspora art and culture.

Stanislaus was selected after a nationwide search.
