I had a chance to visit PS404 in West Midtown. Everything was delicious, especially the Ahi Tuna Poke. But I think the Crispy BBQ Chicken Salad is something maybe I could reproduce at home. Will they share the recipe for the dressing? — William Jones, Brookhaven

Public School on Tap is a group of gastropubs with a fun theme – old school, public school. Letterman jackets hang on the walls and school equipment like globes, microscopes and jars of pencils adorn the space. The group started in California and have expanded, opening in Atlanta in early May.

Corporate chef Lee Velasco was happy to share the recipe for the ranch dressing on this customer favorite. “The BBQ chicken salad was first introduced in Texas. We wanted to blend fresh ingredients with some Texas tradition. This salad of grilled corn, fried chicken, avocado, cheddar, bacon and tomatoes served over chopped romaine lettuce was screaming for a mixture of our Whisky BBQ Sauce and our house made ranch aka ‘White BBQ Sauce.’’’
