Goulding House is focal point of neighborhood.

Longtime Roswell residents Glenda and Greg Weaver bought the Goulding House this year. The biggest renovation to the 1840s structure was the addition of a kitchen. The Goulding House is about 6,600 square feet, with five bedrooms and five baths. FrontDoor Communities recently updated it, making it the center of its neighborhood.

The original fireplaces are among the homeowners' favorite architectural elements. Near the fireplace in the dining room, a distressed console table and oversized mirror fit with the chic collected feel of the room, which has heart pine floors.

The dining room set, by furniture maker Ferguson Copeland, was a gift to the homeowners.

The pine furniture in the great room came from European Antique Pine Warehouse & Custom Barn Doors, a vendor at Scott Antique Markets and Lakewood 400 Antiques Market. The homeowners have a collection of pine furniture.

The brick walls are among longtime features the homeowners love in the house. The family has lived in Roswell for 20 years, but decided in March to buy Goulding House.

The painting of lambs hanging in the dining room came from Lakewood 400 Antiques Market in Cumming. The decor is a balance between farmhouse and traditional styles, drawing attention to the candle-style chandelier.

The largest renovation to the house was the addition of a kitchen next to the great room, complete with a wine cooler, double convection oven, warming drawer and drawer-style microwave. The old kitchen is on its way to becoming a wine bar and entertainment room.

These built-in cabinets and fireplace were probably in the original house, built in the 1840s. Now they are features in the home office, complimented by a cozy tufted chair and a desk from RH.

Heart pine floors can be found throughout this historical home.

The chairs and mirror from Ballard Designs, with pillows by Lizzie Wilkinson, make a comfortable seating area in the foyer. The books on the table, which is a family piece, are by Francis Goulding, the home's namesake and original owner.

Originally an office, the pool room gets its warmth and luxurious feeling from the paneling, put in by the Spencer family, who owned the Goulding House in the 1970s. There are also secret compartments in certain spots in the panels and around the fireplace.

The 10-foot ceilings, plastered walls, original hardwood floors and fireplace in the master bedroom contribute to the room's chic charm. The side table came from the European Antique Pine Warehouse & Custom Barn Doors, the bench is from Haverty's, and the rug is from Loloi.

The luxurious clawfoot bathtub is set on 12-by-24 brick joint tile by Daltile, which FrontDoor Communities selected when it updated the master bathroom. The faucet is from Moen's Weymouth collection, and the shelving behind the bath provides a space for sponges, soaps and towels.

The lighting in the master bath comes from the skylights, this ornate nebulous fixture and Progress Lighting's Victorian four-bulb fixture (purchased through Ferguson) over the vanity.

The back porch runs the length of the house, with plenty of seating at these tables and chairs from Grandin Road. Glenda Weaver says the back porch's location on a knoll provides amazing views of Roswell and the sunset.

Glenda and Greg Weaver moved into Goulding House with their sons, Connor and Owen, and their 2-year-old Australian cattle dog, Diamond.
