These workplaces round out the top five in the midsize division

2. Dorsey Alston, Realtors

After being named the top midsized workplace in 2016, Dorsey Alston Realtors remains in the top five due to its emphasis on having a tight-knit company culture and community engagement. Dorsey Alston Realtors, which started in 1947, is one of the oldest residential real estate firms in the metro Atlanta area. Its two locations in Buckhead and East Cobb boast 246 employees with an average of 14 years experience. Its agents and brokers are not only knowledgeable about metro neighborhoods, but are actively engaged in those communities by contributing to organizations like the Atlanta Speech School, Atlanta Community Food Bank and area schools.

3. Cobb Pediatric Therapy Services

Kennesaw-based Cobb Pediatric Therapy Services is on this list for the third consecutive year and sixth time overall. The private, woman-owned staffing business has grown to 366 employees in nine states (187 in metro Atlanta) since being founded in 1989. The company, which encourages its employees to pursue educational opportunities, offers medical, dental, vision, short- and long-term disability, a matching 401(k) program and $25,000 in life insurance. Other benefits include sign-on and referral bonuses, paying fees for new therapist licensure and credentials, and 12-month pay options for school-based employees. Through its Cobb for a Cause Matching Gifts Program, the company matches employee contributions to charitable organizations.

4. CBC National Bank

CBC National Bank’s mortgage division, which is based in Atlanta and began in 2007, has been a top workplace for three consecutive years. The public company has 178 of its 460 U.S. employees in its three metro Atlanta offices, in Alpharetta, Cumming and Johns Creek. The mortgage division has grown into a full-service nationwide residential mortgage provider. Flexibility is encouraged at CBC National Bank to promote a work-family balance, and fun activities for employees include ice cream parties and Silly String competitions. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life, and short- and long-term disability insurance.

5. Wesleyan School

Located in Peachtree Corners, this independent K-12 Christian school is in the top five for the third consecutive year. Wesleyan School, which was founded in 1963, has 227 employees and nearly 70 percent of its teachers have advanced degrees. The college preparatory school serves about 1,129 students on a 85-acre campus that includes six main buildings, four gymnasiums, three chapels, two dining halls and two libraries. There’s an 8-to-1 student to teacher ratio. The Christ-centered school sends about 250 students and faculty members annually on mission projects around the world. Wesleyan School’s Faculty Fellows Program provides teaching opportunities to recent college graduates.
