FedEx hiring for holiday season

FedEx is still hiring seasonal workers for the holidays, as it fills 1,500 positions in the Atlanta area.

The shipping firm is hiring a total of 50,000 seasonal workers throughout its network — including the local openings — and will continue to hire throughout the holiday season.

The jobs include package handlers, drivers and other support positions. More than a third of the package handlers hired at FedEx ground facilities stayed on with the company for work after the holidays, according to FedEx.

Sandy Springs-based UPS has also begun hiring 95,000 seasonal workers for the holidays.
