How to get a job at the new Braves’ SunTrust Park

When the Atlanta Braves start their inaugural season at SunTrust Parkpitcher Bartolo Colon won't be the only new employee showing up for work at the stadium. If you'd like to spend your workdays or evenings at the ballpark, here's what you need to know:

What kind of jobs are available?

It depends on the type of job you're looking for. Delaware North Sportservice will handle concessions for the Braves just as they did at Turner Field.  Apply online for the following positions:

  • Bartender
  • Concessions supervisor
  • Cook
  • Dishwasher
  • Guest relations attendant
  • Host
  • Runner/busser/bar back
  • Server
  • Stand worker
  • Suite attendant
  • Vendor
  • Warehouse worker

Apply online for other positions employed directly by the Braves. The ball club is hiring for the following:

  • Front office staff – They're looking for applicants who want a fast-paced, customer service-oriented career.
  • Game day staff – From mascot performers and hosts to production assistants and foundation staff, a wide variety of positions are available.

What type of skills should you have?

In general, you'll need to have excellent communication and customer service skills, be able to lift and carry 25 pounds and be willing to work weekends, nights and extended hours. Additionally, you must pass a background check.

How do you prepare for an interview?

Respondents at Glassdoor ranked interviews with the Atlanta Braves as a 2.5 out of 5 in difficulty, which puts them in the average range. Several described their interviews as fairly straightforward. Sample questions on the site include:

  • "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" – ticket sales trainee
  • "Are you an introvert or an extrovert?" – game day staff
  • "Describe a situation in which you had to overcome a problem." – ticket event team member

For Delaware North Sportservice, Glassdoor respondents ranked interviews as a 2.1. Sample questions include:

  • "Would ... late hours be an issue for you?" – stand attendant
  • "Have you ever seen a co-worker steal from their employer?" – cashier
