Big-city papers wrongly bast Trump on immigration
The AJC and other large city papers continue to take President Trump to task for his position on immigrants. Most of my friends and neighbors disagree. Why? Most of these immigrants have violated U. S. law, as do Americans and sanctuary cities that help them. The U.S. should immediately fly these illegal border crossers back to their homeland. This would cost less than housing, feeding, trying and otherwise processing them. I believe the existing laws give us the authority to do this, thus avoiding the sanctuary city problem. The money saved could be used to build that promised wall. If we continue down our current path, America will be changed forever by the overpopulation from Central Americans who often depend on our economic safety net for their survival.
Naturally the Democratic Party favors our current system as these immigrants will mostly become Democratic voters in the future.

Will’s right-wing views err on need for ERA
George Will seems to fear that the Equal Rights Amendment would make it possible for liberal judges to rule any way they chose ("ERA started off as a farce but has ended in tragedy," Opinion, June 17). As a presumed intellectual, he surely knows that the Constitution is generally interpreted with respect to the intent of its writers, who never addressed the issue of gender discrimination. Surely, he also knows that women have suffered discrimination throughout human history. The proposed amendment merely states: "Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any state on account of sex." Credible polls in every state, including Georgia, showed the majority of Americans supported the amendment. The abstaining legislatures did not, which indicates the influence of campaign money wielded by the Radical Right's network of billionaire corporate conservatives who most likely fear the loss of women as cheap labor.
