Democrats traffic in anti-Trump hatred

Being encouraged by your recent inclusion of conservative writers for the “View From Both Sides” opinion page of the paper, I find the AJC continues to be an extension of CNN and the Democratic Party. The AJC prints almost exclusively AJC, Associated Press, Washington Post and New York Times leftist articles and columns. Example: The government shutdown is Trump’s intransigence to compromise, but not the Democrats’ as regards the border wall/barrier. No mention in these articles that Democrats voted several times in the past for much more wall money to help stop illegal migration. The petty, vindictive, spiteful hate for Trump by Democrats is pathetic: No, don’t let Trump have another win. Ever heard of pragmatism, Democrats?

DAN YOUNGCLAUS, CUMMING

Newly diverse U.S House a gift from Trump

Watching the first session of the 2019 U.S. House, the contrast was striking. The white-faced, gray-suited Republicans sat glum, coming to life only once to boo a young Democrat for the impropriety of dancing when she was in college. On the Democratic side, the faces were all shades of brown, the clothes bright colors. It reminded me of the Boll Weevil Monument in Enterprise, Ala., that commemorates the part the pest played in diversifying farmers’ crops, bringing prosperity to the county. Who can we give credit for the sea change in the face of the House more than Donald Trump? The man’s utter incompetence awakened our electorate to the danger of sitting idly by, expecting elected officials to know how to do their job. No need for a monument to Mr. Trump. He already has one: the eight prototype border walls. Fittingly, the government won’t adopt any of the designs.
