Sanchez transparent through strategic omission

Finally, transparency! Though it comes through a shill for Hillary Clinton whose inept cheerleading lays bare the Hillary campaign and media accomplices’ strategy. Mary Sanchez’s “Hillary’s message to Donald is clear and calm: Game on,” Balanced Views, Aug. 2, continues the barrage against Trump, expanding his flaws with hyperbole and denouncing his “lack of character, seriousness and scruple” — hoping all the while people won’t notice Hillary’s character and scruple are as bad or worse.

Sanchez and other Hillary sycophantic journalists know they support a flawed candidate, and to have any credibility, they must admit some Hillary flaws. But admitting them all would be disastrous. So they acknowledge Hillary’s not being “smooth before the cameras,” her “past (not current?) relationships with Wall Street,” and her incorrect “vote for the Iraq invasion.” All a poor attempt to veil Hillary’s greater flaws, such as her decades-long deceit and more recent lies and ill-advised actions regarding Benghazi, the Libyan leader’s overthrow, the failed Russian reset, and her national-security-threatening private email server.

Trump supporters not patriots

Thank you, Mona Charen, for raising the question of what’s a “patriot” to do when voting this year “Where does a patriotic American turn in 2016,” Balanced Views, Aug. 1. She raises an important question: If you are truly a supporter of America and our way of life, how could you in good conscience vote for the most anti-American candidate in the modern era? No politician who supports Donald Trump, and no voter who votes for Trump can rightfully call themselves a “patriot.”

All six senators served in Vietnam, and Cleland lost both legs and an arm in that war. (Rick McKay/Washington Bureau)
