U.S. voters have issued a wake-up call
Regardless of individual political leanings, the average American has had enough. Polls from both sides of the aisle scream the discontent and anger that most people feel toward elected officials. The reason for this is simple: we have been ignored, disregarded and written off as irrelevant, even stupid. The core mission of our politicians, the wise representation of the people, has been replaced by their full-time preoccupation with the welfare and supremacy of political parties. Representative governance has been replaced by party warfare. If there was ever a case to be made for term limits, this is it. The president was elected, in large measure, because he wasn’t, and isn’t, a politician. It was the public’s way of issuing a wake-up call, but our representatives and senators are tone deaf. It’s time for all of them to permanently replace “We the Party” with “We the People” or resign in disgrace.

MARTA a great asset to Atlanta
When I first bought my house, I had a concrete bus stop in front of it and I hated it. Then both of my old cars broke down within a week of each other. Then I had to ride the bus to get around. That experience made me realize how that MARTA bus stop in front of my house was an asset. And now that Atlanta has MARTA rail system, it has become a double asset. I remember in 1969, I got a great job in Marietta but I had no car to get there and I lived in Atlanta. So I had to ride two buses to a downtown Greyhound bus station and take a Greyhound bus to Marietta and then take a cab to my new job. This is how I got to and from work until I found a carpool going to an area of Atlanta. I love the MARTA bus stop in front my house; it’s a great asset and option.
