Braves outfielder Matt Kemp was removed from left field in the top of the fifth inning in Friday’s game against the Mets at SunTrust Park. Lane Adams, who often enters games late as a pinch-hitter or defensive substitution, replaced Kemp.

The team announced in the sixth inning that Kemp left with left hamstring tightness.

Kemp couldn’t get to a ball that resulted in an Asdrubal Cabrera double, then looked slow chasing Dominic Smith’s go-ahead double down the left field line.

Kemp has battled hamstring issues through the season and his career. He’s had two stints on the disabled list due to such issues, so it’s likely the team will be careful with him moving forward

The Braves lead the Mets 3-2 in the sixth.
