Buses don’t have the romance — or expense, or speed — of trains, but they are fast becoming the transportation workhorses of metro Atlanta. My column today deals with MARTA’s entry into Clayton County, where it’s already providing crucial rides to employment centers, and early ridership numbers show its value. In our second column, the leader of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority discusses, among other strategies, adding cross-suburban routes for commuter buses to Perimeter Center, as GRTA adapts to the region’s mobility needs.
