MARTA will continue to operate on a modified schedule Friday because of winter weather, the agency announced.

The state’s Xpress bus service, CobbLinc and Gwinnett County Transit will resume normal operations Friday.

Riding MARTA has become a necessity for many commuters. Here are a few pointers for MARTA newbies.

MARTA Rail service resumed at 4:30 a.m. Friday and will run on a modified weekend schedule with trains arriving every 7 to 15 minutes, the agency said. Red and Gold Lines will run to the airport until 2 a.m.

Limited bus service began at 4:30 a.m. Friday, with buses running on major roads and those servicing medical facilities.

MARTA Mobility paratransit service will provide service to customers with a scheduled pick-up.

The agency said parents whose children take MARTA to school should check to ensure their bus route is running or arrange for alternate transportation.

MARTA said it will employ a full staff Friday with the goal of returning to full bus service.
