HOUSTON — The Braves announced their 26-man World Series roster ahead of Game 1 on Tuesday against the Astros.
The roster consists of 12 pitchers and 14 position players -- and includes one surprise: right-hander Kyle Wright. Wright, 26, made only two major-league appearances this season, allowing seven runs in 6-1/3 innings.
Wright essentially replaces Huascar Ynoa as a righty who can provide length (roster-wise, he took Jacob Webb’s spot). Ynoa is out with shoulder inflammation.
The Braves also switched out infielder Johan Camargo, who was on their National League Championship Series roster, for speedster Terrance Gore. The Braves carried Gore on their roster for the Division Series against the Brewers.
