If you thought the record-tying highs ended with summer, think again.

According to Channel 2 Action News, Atlanta tied the record of 78 degrees set in 1994.

And Athens also tied its record high of 82 degrees, Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said.

Currently, the temperature is 70 degrees in Atlanta, Channel 2 reported. The average high for this time of year is 67.

Now that daylight saving time has ended, the sun set at 5:40 p.m., Nitz said. The next time sunset is at 6 p.m. is Jan. 24.

There is a 20 percent chance of rain Monday, Channel 2 reported. Rain chances increase to 40 percent Tuesday and 70 percent Wednesday and Thursday.

Tuesday morning is expected to be wet but warm with a high of 77 degrees.

That high falls to 66 degrees on Wednesday.
