It was a breezy Saturday morning on the campus of Georgia Tech as fans made their way to Brittain Drive-- aka Yellow Jacket Alley -- to greet the Yellow Jacket players, coaches and cheerleaders as they entered Bobby Dodd Stadium for the home opener against FCS Jacksonville State.
The Yellow Jackets are coming off a tough 42-41 double overtime loss to Tennessee. Because the game was played on Monday, Georgia Tech had just four days to recover before Saturday’s contest. The Gamecocks on the other hand had last week off and come to Atlanta as the No. 5 team in the FCS.
Tech quarterback TaQuon Marshall had a huge breakout performance in his first career start last week. His 249 rushing yards set a new Atlantic Coast Conference record by a quarterback, while his five rushing touchdowns and 44 rush attempts were the most in Georgia Tech history regardless of position.
