This poor reporter tried so hard to get Bill Belichick to give a non-robot answer

Bill Belichick-New England Patriots-reporter-Bill Parcells

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick has never been known for great answers at press conferences, but that didn’t stop a reporter from trying as hard as possible on Wednesday to get a good quote.

The reporter asked Belichick if his goal is to retire with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, and the reply was “The goal to is beat [the] Denver [Broncos].”

The reporter tried again using the new ESPN 30 For 30 that Belichick stars in with Bill Parcells. Belichick was asked who is better between the two at putting reporters in their place.

“Denver is the target this week. I know you got other stuff on your mind but right now just focused on Denver. Sorry we can’t connect on that,” Belichick said, via ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Even an appeal to his ego couldn’t get Belichick to come out of character for a matter of seconds.

Maybe that reporter should’ve went with a question about in-game technology. That seems to grind Belichick’s gears, because he will give an answer when asked about that.

After the Patriots’ win against the New Orleans Saints early in the season, he was open about how he had problems with the headsets and tablets all afternoon.

He has never been shy about how much he dislikes the tablets.
